Kim Jong Il Praised by Russian, Ugandan Personages
Pyongyang, December 8 (KCNA) -- A seminar on the exploits of leader Kim Jong Il was held by the Karelia-DPRK Friendship Association in Russia and a remembrance meeting by the Makerere University in Uganda on Dec. 1 and 3 respectively on the occasion of the 4th anniversary of his demise.

Viktor Yegorov, chairman of the Russian association, said in a speech that the whole life of Kim Jong Il was a noble life of a peerless patriot totally dedicated to the country and nation.

The chairman praised him as a great leader who unrolled a great plan for building a thriving nation and laid an eternal foundation for the prosperity of the DPRK.

V.S. Posnov, vice- chairman of the Russian association, noted that the DPRK has achieved one victory after another under the leadership of Kim Jong Il despite the ceaseless moves of the imperialists to stifle it.

Henri Masico, department director of the Presidency of Uganda, the chairman of the Group for the Study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism at Makerere University in Uganda and other participants noted Kim Jong Il protected the sovereignty and dignity of the country from the imperialists' moves to bring down socialism and stifle the DPRK and turned it into the world's political and military power.

They praised him as the world's elder statesman as he wisely led the global cause of independence and rendered material and moral support to the African people in the building of a new society.
