Schoolchildren's New Year Performance Enjoys Popularity
Pyongyang, January 8 (KCNA) -- "Snow Is Falling on New Year's Day" is one of the songs put on the stage at the Schoolchildren's New Year performance now under way here.

The song instills into the audience ardent yearning for the great Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who had shown boundless loving care for children in their lifetime.

Kim Il Sung had enjoyed children's New Year performances for scores of years since he took part in a New Year's meeting with children at his ordinary residence at the foot of Mt. Haebang.

He saw the children's New Year performances every year held at monumental edifices in Pyongyang City, including the Taedongmun Cinema, Pyongyang Students and Children's Palace, Pyongyang Indoor Stadium and the April 25 House of Culture.

Through those performances, the people of the DPRK have felt thankful to the Generalissimos for setting up children as king of the country.

Indeed, the schoolchildren's New Year performances have not been simple art performances but the moments of deepening the feelings of kinship between the leader and younger generations.

Kim Il Sung had always applauded the successful performances given by the children ahead of others and had photo sessions with them.

Under the guidance of leader Kim Jong Il, their New Year performance developed into a peculiar one involving not only schoolchildren but also people from all walks of life.

Now the Generalissimos' noble outlook on the younger generation has been carried forward by supreme leader Kim Jong Un, who always wishes the children happiness.

Thanks to the boundless loving care of the great Generalissimos and the warm blessings of Kim Jong Un, a rosy future is in store for the children in the DPRK.
