Media Fairness Called for in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 16 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Council of Christian Churches urged the authorities to ensure media fairness, according to CBS of south Korea on Monday.

The council said that, after putting media under its control by parachute reshuffling, the Lee Myung Bak regime dismissed dozens of media persons and took disciplinary actions against at least 450 people for the reason that they called for fair reporting.

Unless media ensure fairness, it is impossible to achieve democracy in society, it held.

It demanded the authorities consider the work to put the public-managed broadcasting services on a normal track as a top priority task and immediately solve the issue of those media persons who were subject to disciplinary actions at an early date.
