Chinese Guangxi Fine Art Exhibition Opens in DPRK
Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- The Chinese Guangxi Fine Art Exhibition, co-sponsored by the DPRK and Chinese Ministries of Culture, opened at the Pyongyang International House of Culture to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung.

Displayed in the venue were dozens of Chinese paintings, oil paintings and woodcut printings created by painters of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. They showcase part of the folk fine art of the Chinese people.

The opening ceremony was held on Friday.

Attending it were Han Chol, vice-minister of Culture of the DPRK, relevant officials, fine art creators, Pyongyang citizens, the delegation of Chinese men of culture headed by Lei Wuwu, president of Guangxi Art School, Ambassador Liu Hongcai and staff members of the Chinese embassy here.

Speeches were made.

Han Chol expressed conviction that the exhibition would make a contribution to bringing into full bloom the DPRK-China friendship by bearing fruits as anticipated by the peoples and men of culture and arts of the two countries.

Liu Hongcai referred to a series of exchange and cooperation and achievements made in various fields including politics, economy and culture amid concern of the supreme leaders of the two countries.

Lei Wuwu said that the displayed pieces were gifts to the 100th birth anniversary of Kim Il Sung, expressing belief that the cultural exchange would contribute to further deepening the friendship between the two peoples.
