Chinese Art Troupe Gives Premiere in Pyongyang Festival
|Pyongyang, April 13 (KCNA) -- The Chinese Art Troupe (song and dance ensemble of the General Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army), gave its premiere at the Ponghwa Art Theatre in Pyongyang on Thursday for the 28th April Spring Friendship Art Festival.
With high artistry, the Chinese performers lively represented Chinese people's friendly feelings towards the Korean people.
A mixed chorus "Song of the Chinese People's Liberation Army" and male solo "I Love You, the Motherland" give a glimpse of the servicepersons protecting the people's security with ardent patriotism.
In particular, Li Yuning in his thirties won acclamation for his excellent conduct.
The performers also put on the stage Korean songs, including "Song of General Kim Il Sung", "Kimjongilia", "Footsteps" and "Arirang".
The song and dance ensemble with a history of 60 years is recognized as one of the best art troupes in China, representing the national arts of present-day China.
Awarded with gold medals and Grand Prix at domestic and foreign festivals, it has made performance tours of scores of countries worldwide.
After giving performance in honor of leader Kim Jong Il in Pyongyang years ago, it had a souvenir photo taken with him.
Sun Xiaohong, head of the art troupe, told KCNA:
"I had the honor to meet with Kim Jong Il for several times in the past.
The Chinese government has sent top-level art troupes to every April Spring Friendship Art Festival.
The Chinese artistes at the festival were deeply moved by Korean arts while singing Korean songs. This is really a grand art festival."
