Anti-Japanese Women's Association Organized by Kang Pan Sok

Pyongyang, December 25 (KCNA) -- Kang Pan Sok, an indomitable revolutionary fighter, organized the Anti-Japanese Women's Association on December 26, Juche 15 (1926) under the guidance of President Kim Il Sung.

At that time the Korean women were in so poor plight, fettered by corrupt feudal society and the Japanese colonial rule.

From the period of his early revolutionary activities, the President had paid deep concern to emancipating the women from socio-political fetters, regarding them as a driving force of revolution.

First of all, he decided to build an organization with hardcore women.

True to the President's will, Kang Pan Sok made devoted efforts to organize the association in Fusong.

She was elected chairwoman of the association.

The association aimed to build socialist society in Korea and, for the present, throw the Japanese imperialists out of the country and achieve the independence of the nation and social emancipation of the women.

Members of the association enhanced their revolutionary and class consciousness through night schools, discussions and short courses, while conducting political activities to rally many other women in the association.

Thanks to their energetic activities, the association had its branches in many areas, including Fusong, Kalun, Guyushu, Wujiazi and the guerilla base near the River Tuman.

The Anti-Japanese Women's Association creditably discharged its mission in winning the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle.
