S. Korean Prosecution's Suppression Slammed

Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Teachers Union (Jongyojo) in a statement on August 2 denounced the prosecution for its suppression of the organization.

The prosecution authorities indicted 1 318 teachers and 270 government employees on the unreasonable suspicion that they aided a progressive political party, the statement said.

The prosecution's indictment is a premeditated and politically-motivated suppression of Jongyojo, it noted.

Intolerable are the authorities cracking down on teachers affiliated with Jongyojo and government employees while defending teachers who joined the "Grand National Party" or provided political funds to it, it held.

Jongyojo will stage a joint action to win back the political right of teachers and government employees, it declared.
