PSI is a dangerous tool fabricated and spearheaded by the U.S. prompted by its criminal intention to forcibly intercept, check up and search ships, planes, etc. of those countries which it considers as a thorn in the flesh under the pretext of curbing the proliferation of WMD including nuclear weapons and missiles.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday says in a signed commentary in this regard:

PSI exercises staged by the puppet group under the pretext of the conspiratorial case of warship sinking revealed the criminal scenario of the confrontation-minded maniacs to vitiate the hard-won atmosphere of dialogues and peace between the north and the south and push the inter-Korean relations to the brink of war. They were, therefore, an undisguised military provocation and declaration of a war against the DPRK.

What should not be overlooked is that the south Korean authorities spearheaded PSI exercises for the first time in history and drew even the "Self Defense Forces" of Japan into them.

The naval blockade exercises aimed at forcible check up and search of ships of specified countries are war exercises targeting the port blockade together with forcible seizure, check up and search of the DPRK-flagged ships.

What is needed for the north and the south is atmosphere of dialogue for spurring the improvement of relations, not saber-rattling.

The illegal and brigandish hostile acts such as PSI exercises will only spark off military conflict and worsen inter-Korean relations as they violate and infringe upon the dignity and sovereignty of the DPRK.

The persistent catastrophe in the inter-Korean relations is not beneficial to the south Korean authorities, either.

History and the nation will never pardon the south Korean authorities if they keep running reckless to escalate inter-Korean confrontation and launch a war against the north, quite contrary to the trend of the times and the aspiration of compatriots for the reconciliation and unity of the nation, the improvement of the inter-Korean relations and peace and reunification.
