Kim Jong Il Sends Message of Thanks to Hu Jintao
Pyongyang, August 30 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il sent a message of thanks to Hu Jintao, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China, on Monday.

The message says:

Leaving for home after winding up my successful visit to the People's Republic of China, I express deep thanks to you, close comrades of the collective leadership of the CPC and cadres and people of Jilin and Heilongjiang provinces for the warm reception and cordial hospitality accorded to us.

During our visit to the northeastern region of China where the revolutionaries of the elder generation of the two countries created the history and tradition of the DPRK-China friendship through the bloody struggle against imperialism we more keenly realized how dear the DPRK-Sino friendship is as it is cherished deep in the hearts of the two peoples and weathered all trials of history.

We were deeply impressed and greatly encouraged to see for ourselves the resourceful and hard-working Chinese people in the region dynamically turning out to display tremendous potential and might under the correct leadership of the CPC.

It is my belief that the traditional DPRK-China friendship will as ever grow stronger and develop generation after generation thanks to the joint efforts of the two parties and the two peoples.

I sincerely hope that the fraternal Chinese people would achieve greater successes in the efforts to build a comprehensively well-off socialist society on the basis of the scientific outlook on development under the leadership of the CPC with you as general secretary and, at the same time, you enjoy good health.
