Japan Accused of Its Discriminatory Policy toward Korean Schools
Pyongyang, July 31 (KCNA) -- Japanese civic organizations held a rally in Tokyo on July 22 after forming a committee for joint actions in demand of the discriminatory policy toward Korean schools.

At the rally speakers denounced the Japanese government's exclusion of Korean schools from the tuition-free program for senior high schools as a discriminatory act of depriving Korean students in Japan of the right to learn.

Referring to the fact that the parents of the students of Korean schools have so far fulfilled their legal obligation to pay their taxes, they said that there is no reason for the Korean students to be subject to discriminatory treatment.

Just is the struggle for the settlement of the issue of tuition-free program for the Korean schools, they said, calling upon Koreans in Japan and Japanese citizens to struggle in unity to the last.

Then, Hiroshi Tanaka, honorary professor at Hitotsubashi University, gave a lecture titled "Intolerable is the exclusion of Korean schools from tuition-free program for senior high schools".

It is unjust to exclude only Korean schools from the above-said program and this support regime should be applied equally to all schools, he held.

A declaration calling for settling the above-said issue was adopted at the rally.
