Pyongyang in Festive Mood
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- Pyongyang has turned out in a festive mood to greet the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, April 15.

The streets of the city are bedecked with national flags, red flags, placards emblazoned with "Day of the Sun," "Immortality", "April 15" and other decorations. Public catering establishments are also garbed in festive attire.

The President's old home in Mangyongdae and other places associated with his revolutionary exploits have been inundated with visitors.

The 12th Kimilsungia Festival and 2nd April Spring People's Art Festival are going on with a large attendance and such celebrations as meetings to remember the President and pledge loyalty to General Secretary Kim Jong Il, art performances and sports games have been held under the auspices of working people's organizations.

IAAF-the 23rd Mangyongdae Prize Marathon took place at Kim Il Sung Stadium on the 11th amid great concern of sportspersons and enthusiasts. It was participated in by more than 700 male and female athletes from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Ukraine, Kenya and other countries.

Meanwhile, the Mangyongdae Prize Sports Contest started on the 7th. -
