Historical Ferry Associated with Kim Jong Suk's Activities
Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- Mangyang Ferry is located on the bank of the Tuman River flowing along the northern border of the DPRK, which conveys the immortal activities of anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk to the generations to come.

It is the historical ferry through which Kim Jong Suk crossed over the river to an alien land with her revolutionary family when she left her native place in the spring of Juche 11 (1922).

Young as she was, she could not control her grief of leaving the fellow-countrymen who were deprived of the country by the brutal Japanese imperialists and were imposed upon the destiny of colonial slavery. She made up her mind to defeat Japanese imperialism and come back to the native village at the ferry.

Preserved in the ferry is the ferryboat used by her at that time and a monument to her revolutionary activities.

The ferry, which had witnessed tears and misfortunes in the by-gone days, is full of the happiness and joy of the people today.
