Birthday of DPRK Observed in Austria
Pyongyang, September 18 (KCNA) -- The Group of Youth for the Study of Kim Jong Il Juche Idea in Austria issued a bulletin on September 9 to mark the 61st birthday of the DPRK.

The bulletin carried a photograph of President Kim Il Sung standing together with General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The bulletin in an article said that Kim Il Sung led the anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory, liberating the country on Aug. 15, 1945. In the subsequent period he wisely led the Korean people to successfully carry out in a short span of time all democratic reforms including land reform, the nationalization of major industries and the enforcement of the Law on Sex Equality, it added.

The DPRK was founded on Sept. 9, 1948 and Kim Il Sung elected head of state according to the unanimous will of all the Korean people, the bulletin noted, and continued: Kim Il Sung led the Fatherland Liberation War to victory.

Pointing out that he dedicated all his life to the reunification of Korea and the cause of socialism, the bulletin stressed that his revolutionary exploits would last forever.
