Struggle against Police Violence Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 25 (KCNA) -- The "Network of Civic and Public Organizations for Defending Democracy and Checking Suppression under the Pretext of Security" in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on June 22 at which it declared that it would wage the struggle against the police violence against the participants in rallies and demonstrations.

At the press conference speakers said that the security forces' suppression has reached its height as the masked policemen are brandishing shields and iron sticks at the scenes of rallies and demonstrations.

They noted that citizens formed a "human rights group for monitoring police violence" in order to conduct activities for monitoring the illegal police violence.

They declared they would take photos of police violence on the spot by themselves or compile information about it in order to lay bare the human rights abuses by the security forces.

Then a press release was read out there. It stated that they would positively turn out in the campaign to indict those who commanded the indiscriminate suppression and stage actions for solidarity with even foreign figures.
