Lee Myung Bak Group Accused of Disallowing Religious Group's Pyongyang Visit

Pyongyang, June 16 (KCNA) -- Traitor Lee Myung Bak recently took a fascist action to disallow the Pyongyang visit of pilgrims' group "Ochetuji." The group originally planned to hold prayers' meeting for reunification at Pohyon Temple in Mt. Myohyang on the occasion of the 9th anniversary of the publication of the June 15 joint declaration.

The Religious Believers Council of Korea issued a statement Tuesday denouncing this.

The statement vehemently denounced the Lee group of traitors as a group of Satans as it has reduced the south Korean society to a graveyard of democracy and human rights and driven the people's livelihood into unbearable destitution while laying hurdles in the way of national reconciliation and unity and escalating confrontation with fellow countrymen in collusion with outsiders.

As far as the pilgrim made by office-bearers of the Catholic Priests' Council for Justice and the Solidarity of Buddhist Environment and people from all walks of life is concerned, it was a protest staged, unable to remain a passive onlooker to the gloomy reality of the society where the trend of the June 15 era of reunification is completely stemmed by the Lee Myung Bak group, justice, democracy and patriotism are cruelly violated at the point of bayonet under dictatorship and the people's living is deteriorating as the days go by, the statement said, and continued:

The above-said action taken by the Lee group against the religionists conducting patriotic religious activities clearly proves that the group is only seeking to prolong the remaining days of its reactionary conservative regime through fascist dictatorship, in utter disregard of the destiny of the country and the nation and the existence of the nation and its peace, etc.

Nothing can calm down the surging storm for punishing the group of Lee as it has brought only disaster and misfortune to the compatriots by perpetrating evils against the people and the nation since its seizure of power and this storm will bring the group to self-destruction.

The statement expressed the expectation that the religionists of south Korea would carry forward their tradition of having taken the lead in the struggle for justice, truth, peace and reunification and positively turn out in the nationwide struggle to throw overboard the Lee group of traitors at an early date and make a new history of independent reunification and peace and prosperity.
