Japan's Distortion of History Flayed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 14 (KCNA) -- The Council for the Solution of the Issue of the Volunteers Corps of south Korea released a statement on April 10 condemning the Japanese authorities' move to tamper with Japan's history.

The history textbook for middle schoolers which the Japanese reactionaries got passed through the screening process on April 9 is nothing different from the history textbook published 4 years ago which had contents whitewashing the hideous crimes committed by the Japanese imperialists in the past by deleting the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army, the statement noted, and went on:

The international community had already branded the issue of "comfort women" for the Imperial Japanese Army as the unprecedented hideous crime and urged the Japanese government to let its people know about the crime and properly educate them.

This notwithstanding, the Japanese reactionaries are persisting in their acts to distort the contents of history textbooks, a total defiance of the requirements of the international community.

Japan's distortion of its history is a rash act to make the rising generation understand that the history of its past aggression was nothing wrong and prevent them from knowing even the contents of the human rights abuses.

Urging Japan to immediately stop the moves to tamper with its history and revive militarism, the statement declared that the above-mentioned organization would make positive efforts to force Japan to make an apology and reparation for its past crimes.
