Police Suppression of Student Movement under Fire in S. Korea
Pyongyang, April 5 (KCNA) -- The General Student Council of Korea University and the Student Committee of the Democratic Labor Party of south Korea called a press conference in Seoul on March 31 at which they condemned the puppet police for suppressing the student movement.

At the conference speakers disclosed the fact that the police issued summons Jin Sung Mo, chairman of the student committee of the above-said party, and Jong Thae Ho, chairman of the general student council of the said university, on March 25 and 26 to appear at the police station.

They accused the police of bringing the charge of violation of the "law on assembly and demonstration" to them for the mere reason that they took part in a meeting to remember the slain evacuees in Ryongsan and a students' meeting held in demand of the solution to the issue of registration fee.

They blasted the security authorities for intensifying the watch and shadow operations against students this year.

Recalling that the authorities' suppression of the student movement began with watching and shadowing the student movement, etc. and developed into the fabrication of cases, they demanded them stop at once their unreasonable suppression.
