Joint Struggle against Lee Regime and GNP Declared in S. Korea
Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) -- Members of civic and public organizations and opposition parties of south Korea including the People's Council for Public Welfare and Democracy and the Democratic Labor Party held a rally in Seoul on Feb. 24 at which they declared that they would stage a joint struggle to check the institution of Lee Myung Bak's evil laws and realize a thoroughgoing probe into the truth about the tragic incident in Ryongsan.

In a resolution the participants in the rally denounced the "Grand National Party" for trying to railroad the Lee's evil laws including the law on media at the forthcoming "extraordinary session of the National Assembly."

We will never remain a passive onlooker to the sinister attempt of the GNP which dominates the NA, they warned.

They urged the Lee Myung Bak regime to stop at once its attempt to conceal the truth about the tragic incident in Ryongsan and punish those responsible for the killings.

All the people will fight against the present regime's suppression, they stated, raising the following demands to the authorities:

The Lee Myung Bak regime and the GNP, stop at once their attempt to railroad evil bills against democracy, people and the times through the NA.

Immediately drop the moves to let big businesses control broadcasting services and media and enforce dictatorship.

The "president," directly apologize for the tragic incident in Ryongsan in which ordinary people were killed due to the brutal exercise of power, and punish those responsible for killings and suppression.

Immediately make an "investigation into the state administration" and enforce a "special inspection system" at the NA to probe the truth about the Ryongsan incident.

Stop at once the policy of "redevelopment" encroaching upon the right of the ordinary people.

Set up inside the NA an all-inclusive mechanism of special measures against the recurrence of the tragic incident in Ryongsan grouping civic and public organizations.
