Shortly ago, troops, tanks, armored vehicles and artillery pieces of the Second Division of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces in south Korea were busy with joint ground firepower striking exercises. The combat air brigade belonging to the U.S. Second Division has staged air firepower striking exercises since Jan. 14.

The U.S. imperialists staged madcap war exercises for invading the DPRK by mobilizing their huge air and ground forces in south Korea with all its areas as an operational theatre from Jan. 12 to 17.

Overseas-based aircraft with various missions were deployed in the U.S. air-force bases in south Korea one after another. On Jan. 14 and 16 more than 580 planes with various missions were busy with exercises for striking targets in the depth of the DPRK and close air support and air warfare exercises.

Guam-based B-52H strategic bomber capable of making nuclear bomb attacks flew into the air above south Korea to frequently stage the dangerous drills of dropping bombs before flying back to its base.

A vehicle-transporting ship and a large cargo ship of the navy of the U.S. imperialist aggression forces dropped its anchor at Ryosu Port on Jan. 16 and at Pusan Port on Jan. 22 respectively to get familiar with sea routes and conduct the drill of loading and discharging war materiel.

The war maniacs of the puppet military of south Korea staged war exercises aimed at rounding off the methods of combat actions according to phases pursuant to the OPLAN "5027-04" for invading the DPRK and examining the feasibility of joint operations and "severe winter training" under the simulated conditions of an actual war from Jan. 7 to 24, fanning up the atmosphere for launching an aggression on the DPRK.

The puppet navy staged joint strike exercises combined with live shell firing drill between Jan. 5 and 9. On Jan. 14 it conducted drills for urgent sailing and operation formation and firepower attack with the waters off Yonphyong Islet as an operation theatre. It deployed two more warships in these waters on Jan. 20.

Due to the frantic moves of the U.S. imperialists and the warmongers of the puppet military for a war of aggression on the DPRK, the situation on the Korean Peninsula reached such pass that a thermonuclear war is unavoidable and the desire of the Koreans for security and peaceful reunification is being ruthlessly dampened.

The U.S. and the south Korean puppet army warmongers should properly know who their rival is and behave themselves and halt at once their anti-DPRK war moves.
