KCNA Assails U.S. Arms Buildup
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- There is disturbing U.S. arms buildup from the outset of the new year.

An example of this is its recent decision to deploy F-16, prototype fighter of the U.S. forces, in south Korea in order to replace one Apache squadron belonging to the U.S. forces present there.

According to the decision, one squadron of F-16 is expected to be deployed in south Korea before the withdrawal of the above-said Apache squadron to the U.S. in coming March.

The U.S. is contemplating bolstering the personnel for the operation of U-2 tasked to spy on the DPRK this year.

This indicates the U.S. warmongers' intention to boost the combat capability of the puppet army of south Korea, its "air force" in particular, and thus launch a new war any time through espionage and striking operations against the DPRK.

Clear is the aim sought by the U.S. through the introduction of the above-said fighters to south Korea from the outset of the new year. It seeks to boost the capability to carry out a war.

What should not be overlooked is that the most of the forces being deployed by the U.S. in south Korea and the rest of the Asia-Pacific are nuclear weapons.

The U.S. Defense Department already deployed 90 percent of Aegis warships of the U.S. navy equipped with ballistic missiles and carrier task force loaded with nuclear bombs in the waters of the Pacific under the pretext of coping with the "ballistic missile attack from north Korea."

It also began deploying three squadrons of latest type F-22 called prototype fighter in the 21st century in the Asia-Pacific region and unmanned reconnaissance plane Global Hawk in the U.S. air force base on Guam.

It is well known to the world that F-22 Stealth is capable of mounting a preemptive nuclear bomb attack and the Global Hawk is capable of searching operational theatres before preemptive attack by smaller nuclear bombs.

The reality goes to clearly prove that the U.S. arms buildup is aimed at mounting a preemptive nuclear strike at the DPRK in every aspect and its scenario is now being put into concrete shape at the phase of its implementation.

It is absolutely unpardonable crime for the U.S. to get frantic with arms buildup for aggression aimed at a preemptive nuclear strike at its dialogue partner behind the scene while paying lip-service to dialogue and the like.

The denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula can never come true as long as there is an increasing nuclear threat from the U.S.

This being a hard fact, the U.S. is misleading the public opinion by asserting that the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula can be realized only when the DPRK shows its nuclear weapons first.

The DPRK will never do such thing first unless the U.S. rolls back its hostile policy toward the DPRK and fundamentally removes its nuclear threat to the latter.

The U.S. had better immediately stop its reckless arms buildup for aggression aimed at a preemptive nuclear attack.
