Truth about Mass Killings of Civilians during Korean War Exposed in S. Korea
Pyongyang, January 22 (KCNA) -- The south Korean Committee for Settling the Past History for Truth and Reconciliation on Jan. 16 brought to light the truth about the mass killings of civilians perpetrated by the puppet army and police in different parts of south Korea during the last Korean war

The committee said the testimonies made by survivors and witnesses, analysis of information about atrocities, confessions made by those involved in mass killings at that time and the field survey led to confirming the fact that 2,227 civilians were massacred by the puppet army and police in Sosan, Thaean and other areas.

The committee stressed that at that time the puppet army, police and even vicious reactionary elements were mobilized to kill innocent civilians in cold blood.

Noting that more than 6,350 cases of civilian massacres perpetrated during the Korean war are now under investigation at present, the committee demanded the "government" make an official apology for the mass killings committed in the past.
