Puppet Authorities Urged to Stop Rewriting History Textbooks
Pyongyang, December 12 (KCNA) -- The preparatory committee of the joint measure committee for the solution of the issue of textbooks of south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Dec. 9 at which it demanded the puppet authorities halt their moves to revise history textbooks.

Speakers at the press conference accused "Chongwadae" and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of pressurizing the publishing houses to revise the textbooks on modern history under the pretext that "they are written to serve the leftist purpose."

They chided the authorities for putting pressure for the revision of textbooks, ceaselessly issuing "instructions for the revision" to the publishing houses despite the writers' opposition.

It is unprecedented that the "government" has gone so zealous in its moves to tamper with history, they deplored.

They urged the authorities to retrieve at once the multi-media of modern history in which the history is seriously misrepresented, stop pressurizing the publishing houses and put an end to their moves to revise the textbooks.

At the end of the press conference, the members of the committee visited the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to hand a letter of protest to it.
