The leadership of the WPK for positively preserving the national character is a main factor for training all the people as genuine patriots in the Songun era with the strong sense of self-respect, a source of bringing into full bloom the national culture in all fabrics of social life and a powerful engine for the struggle for national unity and reunification.

It is unthinkable without the far-sighted leadership of the WPK that the Korean nation-first spirit has become part of the mental world of all the people and the slogan "Let us live our own way!" a motto of the life and struggle and firm faith of all the servicepersons and people.

The proud appearance of the country firmly maintaining the independent stand in the international arenas displaying its might as an invincible political and ideological power and a matchless military power helps the Korean people have great national pride and self-respect of holding the great Songun brilliant commander in high esteem and being under the leadership of the great party.

National dress, folk games and advantageous etiquette of the nation are positively encouraged and it has become the trend of the Songun era to enjoy national holidays including full moon day in January. The Koreans positively use native Korean language favored by all Koreans and dance and sing to the tune of Korean music. This is the appearance of the dignified Korean people.

The June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration in line with the desire of the Koreans for reunification were adopted by the leading and active efforts of the WPK and the new era of history is opened up for achieving the national reunification in the idea of "By our nation itself".

A very rosy future is in store for the country and the nation thanks to the seasoned leadership of the great party to value the national character and successfully inherit and develop it.
