Japan's Moves against Chongryon and DPRK under Fire
Pyongyang, November 30 (KCNA) -- The international community is strongly denouncing the Japanese authorities for becoming all the more reckless in their hostile moves against the DPRK and the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon).

Speakers at the 5th meeting of the international solidarity conference demanding Japan's redemption of its past held in Hague said that to make apology and reparation to the victims is the duty of the Japanese government from an international legal point of view, vehemently denouncing the unjustness and moral vulgarity of the Japan's moves to evade the redemption of its past.

A meeting of the coordinators of the above-said international solidarity conference held in Manila discussed issues on widely organizing colorful activities for the redemption of Japan's past in different countries of the world including an issue of expanding to the U.S. and Europe the struggle demanding Japan's redemption of its past crimes and against the distortion of history and an issue of building up international public opinion over the issue of remains of Korean victims of forcible drafting.

The Left Bloc of the Austrian Trade Union Federation and the chairman of the Communist Party of Sweden in letters sent to the Japanese government and its chief executive demanded that Japan make reparation for its crimes and stop at once suppression of Chongryon, discrimination against Koreans in Japan and sanctions against the DPRK.

The secretary general of the Asian Regional Committee to Support Korea's Reunification asserted that Japan should make apology and reparation for the huge crimes it committed against Korean people in the past and stop pursuing hostile policy toward the DPRK.

People of various circles of Japan, too, held colorful functions demanding the normalization of the relations between the DPRK and Japan, the lift of sanctions against the DPRK, the sincere repentance of and reparation for history of colonial rule and stop of suppression of Chongryon, and condemning the move to seize Tok Islet and tamper with history, and waged protest actions.
