S. Korean Authorities' Sycophancy and Submission to U.S. Blasted
Pyongyang, November 28 (KCNA) -- The People for Achieving Peace and Reunification in south Korea held a press conference in Seoul on Nov. 24 denouncing the outcome of negotiations on sharing the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. troops.

The organization at the press conference recalled that at the 5th round of the negotiations for signing a special agreement on sharing the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. troops the south Korean authorities formally agreed with the U.S. side to make sure that the above-said funds are used for the purpose of transferring the U.S. military bases and decided to drastically increase the south Korean side's share of the upkeep of the U.S. forces for next year and extend the validity of the agreement for five years.

The organization deplored that this is, in fact, little short of paving the way for justifying the illegal act of the U.S. related to the above-mentioned funds and using the money collected from the people as taxes for the purpose of transferring the U.S. military bases.

It termed such act of the authorities illegal "drain on resources for the U.S." to back the realization of the "strategic flexibility" of its forces in south Korea.

It vehemently denounced the Lee Myung Bak "government" for its sycophancy and submission to the U.S. aimed at covering the funds for the upkeep of the U.S. forces on a stable basis by extending the agreement.

The organization declared that all forces opposed to increasing the upkeep of the U.S. forces and using it for an illegal purpose would pool their efforts to declare the outcome of the negotiations totally null and void, realize renegotiations and get the above-said special agreement scrapped.
