The statement accused the Lee Myung Bak regime and the "Grand National Party" of working hard these days to railroad the "motion calling for the ratification of south Korea-U.S. FTA" through the "National Assembly".
The moves to conclude the FTA with the U.S. at any cost are a reckless action to widely apply to south Korea the U.S.-style neo-liberal economic policy and financial system injustice of which was clearly proved by the current economic crisis, it said, and went on:
The FTA aimed at unilaterally bringing benefits to the U.S. in all fields including agriculture, manufacturing and finance, is an unequal one as it will render the economy of south Korea completely bankrupt.
The statement urged the Lee Myung Bak regime and the GNP to drop the above-said motion and totally revise the unequal provisions through renegotiations with the U.S., though belatedly.
It declared that the organization would join all the people in their efforts and struggle to the last to check the conclusion of the FTA with the U.S.
