Halt to War Exercises Demanded in S. Korea
Pyongyang, November 2 (KCNA) -- The Solidarity of Youth and Students for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration of south Korea made public a statement titled "The Lee Myung Bak regime, stop at once Hoguk exercises for a war of aggression against the north" on October 30.

Recalling that some time ago the commander of the U.S. forces in south Korea let loose the reckless remarks that it is necessary to let the north believe that south Korea has a division-level Marine Corps capable of conducting landing operations, and other outcries, the statement branded Hoguk exercises started in the wake of the reckless remarks as exercises aiming at a preemptive attack on the north.

The danger of the above-said exercises lies in that they are intended to launch aggression of the north by upgrading the "CONPLAN-5029" aiming at a preemptive attack into the "OPLAN-5029," the statement said.

It denounced the U.S. and the Lee regime for getting pronounced in their war exercises to stifle the other party by force of arms behind the curtain, while talking about "dialogue" and "peace."

The confrontational policy of the Lee regime has rendered the situation on the Korean Peninsula so tense that a war may break out there any moment, the statement added.
