GNP Accused of Inciting Confrontation with Compatriots

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- A few days ago riff-raffs of the Grand National Party of south Korea, citing information released by the "Ministry of Unification", talked the nonsense that "there was the great possibility of the money provided to the north over the past decade of being used for the nuclear development" in the north. They also blustered that the north bolstered its military muscle while they were in dispute over the controversial issue of reckless assistance on the basis of nonsensical information that it introduced weapons from other countries in recent years.

Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary carried in this regard:

Their reckless remarks are intended to defame the undertakings for inter-Korean cooperation which made good progress over the last decade. They betray the GNP's criminal attempt to justify their acts of treachery, which blocked the advance of the June 15 era of reunification and brought the inter-Korean relations to collapse, and spark off new confrontation with compatriots. This is intolerable.

The DPRK's nuclear deterrent is the fruition of the line for building independent national economy as it serves as a powerful treasured sword for defending peace on the Korean Peninsula, the commentary notes, and continues:

This nonsensical talk about the "possible use of fund for the development of nukes in the north" can be made only by the GNP gentry who know nothing about it and cannot know anything about it.

Undertakings for inter-Korean cooperation are patriotic ones for development and prosperity common to the nation, not to meet the interests of one side. The GNP is a traitorous and anti-reunification party as it is pulling up the north over the issue of the above-said cooperation to serve its sinister political purpose.

It is the ulterior aim of the GNP to terminate the June 15 era of reunification and bring back instead the past era of confrontation, totally negating the north-south joint declarations supported and hailed by all Koreans, under the motto of "regaining the lost decade."

It is great irony and tragedy that these good-for-nothings are going reckless, utterly unable to discern such wrong way of thinking and behavior as escalating the confrontation with the north.
