Speakers at the press conference said that the October 4 declaration indicates specific ways for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, adding that they could not but express irrepressible resentment at the Lee Myung Bak "government" pushing the inter-Korean relations to collapse in violation of the above-said historic declaration.

Accusing the present ruling forces of enforcing anti-reunification policies aimed at suspending overall undertakings for reconciliation and cooperation between the south and the north and, at the same time, mercilessly suppressing the reunification movement organizations on charges of violation of the "National Security Law," they declared the anti-reunification policy of the "government" is bound to go bankrupt.

A press release read out there noted that the inter-Korean relations have seriously deteriorated due to the anti-reunification moves of the Lee's "government." It denounced the military authorities including the chairman of the puppet joint chiefs of staff and the "minister of National Defense" for letting a spate of outbursts calling for confrontation with fellow countrymen.

The above-said organizations are strongly opposed to the Lee "government's" watchword of "No nukes, opening and 3,000 dollars," the press release said, demanding it implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration as they indicate the shortcut to independent reunification and peace and prosperity.

Meanwhile, press conferences and demonstrations took place all at once in 20 places of 15 regions in south Korea on the occasion of the first anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration.
