The declaration paved a wide avenue for developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving peace on the Korean Peninsula and common prosperity and reunification of the nation.

It serves as an immortal banner as it clearly indicates the way for the Korean nation to follow in its struggle for implementing the June 15 joint declaration, a great programme for reunification common to the nation, and signified a great stride forward in accomplishing the cause of national reunification.

The United States and the Lee Myung Bak group, its followers, are getting ever more desperate in their moves against the unity and reunification of the Korean nation, the editorial notes, and continues:

The U.S. has persistently pursued its anachronistic hostile policy toward the DPRK in utter disregard of the desire and wishes of the Koreans for national reunification and staged ceaseless large-scale war exercises targeted against the DPRK in south Korea, straining the situation on the Korean Peninsula.

Inter-Korean dialogues have been stopped and a check-bar dropped on the cooperation undertakings and inter-Korean relations are now at the lowest ebb due to the Lee group's treacherous acts of ignoring the historic inter-Korean declarations and refusing to implement them since the adoption of the June 15 joint declaration.
