Rojok Peak - Natural Monument in DPRK
Pyongyang, January 10 (KCNA) -- In the DPRK, there are many rare and beautiful natural monuments.

Rojok Peak in Outer Chilbo of Mt Chilbo is one of them.

This peak is located at the roadside toward Pakdal Pass at the seat of Pochon-ri, Myongchon County of North Hamgyong Province.

The peak is surrounded by rocks of fantastic shape.

The grain stack-shaped peak was formed when basaltic layer on the top of granite belonging to the Jurassic period of Mesozoic era was eroded by two water courses.

The peak looks like a stack of tens of thousands of rice sacks.

The relative height of the cone-shaped peak is 50 meters.

Pine and maple trees grow in the crevices of the peak and the water of Pochon Stream curves round the lower part of the peak.

This rare peak is a natural monument which has great significance in the study of geographical features of the Mt Chilbo area.
