The August 3 Consumer Goods Production Movement is one of the wide-ranging mass movements as it helps radically increase the production of various kinds of consumer goods by efficiently utilizing the internal reserves on a mass scale and relying on the masses' creativity.

In the first half of the year, Pyongyang City produced more than 750,000 plastic goods and ironware of over 100 kinds and South Phyongan Province 280,000 minor goods of 150 kinds.

Similar achievements were made in other provinces, too.
