Those of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology placed first at three Codechef internet program contests for the year.

At the 28th World Memory Championships held in China on December 4-8, six students from the DPRK won 28 medals, including 11 golds, and three gold trophies and renewed world records in four events, taking the first place in country standing. They all were awarded the International Grand Master of Memory, top prize of the championships.

Meanwhile, students of different universities across the country made, through their brisk research activities, lots of scientific findings conducive to attaining the goals of the five-year strategy for national economic development.

They solved more than 2,300 scientific and technological problems arising in the production and management at hundreds of industrial establishments and farms, including the Pyongyang Thermal Power Complex and the Chollima Steel Complex.

More than 1,000 university student scientific research prize winners were produced this year, according to data available.
