Blue and White Porcelain, Heritage of Korean Nation
Pyongyang, October 1 (KCNA) -- The blue and white porcelain is a precious heritage of the Korean nation which holds a large proportion in white ceramics made during the feudal Joson dynasty (1392-1910).

The porcelain output was increased between the mid-fifteenth century and the late 16th century, and this porcelain got more diverse in kind and theme of picture decoration.

The porcelain was used to make stationery, jar, flowerpot, etc.

The decoration is a major index of blue and white porcelain. Patterns of ten long-living animals and things were mainly used in decoration in the first half of the feudal Joson dynasty. And from the latter half of the dynasty, patterns of the Four Gracious Plants and other patterns symbolizing longevity and happiness were also used in decoration.

In the 18th century, the porcelain was developed into one with vivid and speculative patterns owing to the rapid development of realistic drawings.

Now, the technique of blue and white porcelain has been widely used in the ceramic sector.
