Typhoon-13 to Hit DPRK
Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- According to the information of the State Hydro-meteorological Administration, typhoon-13 which reached the sea 450 km east of Taipei of China as of 12:00 Thursday is now moving to the Korean peninsula.

The typhoon will proceed northward along the western coast of Korea at the speed of 14 km per hour and reach South Hwanghae Province on Saturday night. And it will pass North Hamgyong Province on Sunday morning via inlands of North and South Hwanghae, South Phyongan and South Hamgyong provinces.

The rain of 50 to 100 mm is expected in the eastern and western coastal areas, over 200 mm in some areas of North and South Hamgyong provinces and more than 150 mm in the southern part of North Phyongan and North and South Hwanghae provinces on Saturday and Sunday in company with heavy rain. Strong wind of over 10 meters per second, 15-20 meters partially will blow in various regions of the country exclusive of Jagang and Ryanggang provinces.

And the typhoon will trigger strong tidal wave in the sea off Kangwon Province from Saturday night to Sunday morning and the sea off North and South Hamgyong provinces from Sunday dawn to afternoon.

Now, all the fields and units of the country are taking strict measures for preventing damage from flood and rainy wind.
