Valuable Archive "Phahanjip" in Korea
Pyongyang, September 4 (KCNA) -- "Phahanjip" is known as the oldest book among the collections of folktales in the period of Koryo (918-1392), the first unified state of the Korean nation.

The book, published in around 1260, consists of three volumes.

It deals with data on scores of literary men active in the period of Koryo and their famous works, anecdotes, folk tales, estimation, aesthetic views and records on the publication of anthology consisting of folk songs sung by the people.

The book is of weighty significance in studying the literature and history of Koryo.
