Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un Sends Birthday Spreads to Veteran Professors
Pyongyang, July 30 (KCNA) -- Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un sent birthday spreads to Merited Scientist, Candidate Academician, Prof. and Dr. Ri Jong Su, researcher at the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences, and Merited Scientist, Candidate Academician, Prof. and Dr. Ri Yong Hwan, researcher at the History Institute of the Academy of Social Sciences, on their 80th birthday.

Ri Jong Su, born as the second son of a poor tenant before the liberation of Korea, graduated from the then Hamhung University of Chemical Engineering under the care of President Kim Il Sung, who liberated the country and opened the door for learning to all people, and worked as an official and researcher at the Hamhung Branch of the State Academy of Sciences for over five decades.

Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the branch on the day of election of deputies to local power bodies, March 7, Juche 88 (1999) and voted for him who was nominated as a candidate for deputy to the South Hamgyong Provincial People's Assembly.

He made a great contribution to studying and preserving the revolutionary relics, the eternal treasure of the Korean revolution, and developing the chemical industry.

Ri Yong Hwan who graduated from the Faculty of History of Kim Il Sung University has devoted his all to the study of the contemporary history of Korea and world history.

He wrote books of national treasure value to enrich the treasure house of Korean history study and trained many holders of academic degrees and titles.

He participated in the 2nd and 3rd national conferences of social scientists.
