After joining the volunteer corps, Yang Phan Gi distinguished himself in an assault in April, Juche 40 (1951).

On June 29, 1951, President Kim Il Sung summoned heroes of the Republic and model combatants to the Supreme Command and gave a submachine gun to Yang Phan Gi to appreciate his military merit.

Yang Phan Gi had served as a lecturer at the Victorious Fatherland Liberation War Museum under the loving care and trust of the peerlessly great men.

Jon Ki Bong, who was brought up as a commanding officer of the People's Army under the care of Kim Il Sung, led over 130 rounds of combats to victory during the Fatherland Liberation War.

The ceremonies of burying remains took place on Tuesday.

Remains of Yang Phan Gi and Jon Ki Bong were buried together with their wives'.

And remains of wives of martyrs Ko Tae Sok, Kim Rak Hong, Kim Sung Nam, Kim Il Bu (Kim Sam Son), Kim Won Thae, Ri Jae Chol, Ri Won Hup, Pak Ung Phal, Song Hae Son, Yun Yong Uk, Jo Chan Gil, Cha Sun Hae, Choe Song Nam, Han Kye Chon and Hwang Sok In were buried together with their husbands'.

The participants laid bunches of flowers at the graves of martyrs and observed a moment's silence in memory of them.
