The farm covering an area of one million and hundreds of thousands of square meters is to be built divided into greenhouse district, tree nursery district, office building district and residential district.

Since the start of the construction in late September last year, soldier-builders removed hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of earth and finished footing excavation and arrangement of the area to make a breakthrough in the construction.

Several blocks of standard greenhouses were completed to start production, and the construction for several hundred blocks of houses, cultural and welfare establishments and production buildings is making headway on a full scale.

The construction of production facilities in the tree nursery like open-air sapling cultivation ground and circular cutting bed and office buildings has been hastened at the final stage.

Successes were also made at the housing construction and public building construction.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited Kyongsong County twice in July and August last year and proposed building a large-scale greenhouse farm there to supply fresh vegetables to the people of North Hamgyong Province in all seasons and indicated the orientation and ways for its construction.
