Society for Rallying Comrades, Origin of WPK
Pyongyang, July 3 (KCNA) -- It has been 89 years since the formation of the first party organization - the society for rallying comrades, the origin of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK).

On July 3, Juche 19 (1930), President Kim Il Sung rallied young communists to form the first party organization guided by the Juche idea.

He in his teens came to have an idea that if the role of a party organization formed with young communists is enhanced while expanding its basic organizations everywhere, it is possible to ensure the guidance over the communist movement and the national-liberation struggle and smoothly carry out the international duty, too.

So, he put an end to the history of flunkeyism and factional strife and formed a new-type party organization in Kalun.

As he realized the philosophical principle that the revolution could win a victory along with comrades sharing the same idea and purpose, he named the organization the society for rallying comrades.

He raised such problems as expanding the basic party organizations and establishing a system for unified guidance over them, achieving the organizational and ideological unity of ranks and comradely unity and fortifying the mass foundation of the revolution. And, to this end, he stressed the need for the party organization to adhere to the independent stand in its all activities and conduct the work for building party organization in close combination with the anti-Japanese struggle.

Soon after its inauguration, a party organization was formed in Onsong area of the homeland with hardcore members of revolutionary organizations and then many other basic party organizations came into being in armed units and in areas of East Manchuria along the River Tuman and northern border areas of Korea.

Later, a party committee of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army was formed in May 1934 to establish a unified system of guidance over party organizations of all levels in the army and local party organizations. Thus, the anti-Japanese revolutionary struggle and the work for building party organizations could be vigorously conducted in reliance on the organized Korean revolutionary force.

Thanks to the achievements and experience gained in the period of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, the Workers' Party of Korea could be founded in less than two months after Korea's liberation (August 15, 1945).
