Founding Anniversary of Chongryon Hagu Bookshop Marked in Tokyo
Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- A meeting for celebrating the 70th founding anniversary of the Hagu Bookshop of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon) was held at the Korean Hall in Tokyo on June 21.

Present at the meeting were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of Chongryon; Pak Ku Ho, its vice-chairman, Song Kun Hak, director of its Education Department; Han Tong Song, rector of Korean University; chairpersons of Chongryon headquarters in Kanto; chairpersons of Chongryon branches; leading officials of organizations and affiliates; principals of schools at all levels; students of the Education Faculty of Korean University; Kang Chang Hun, president of the Hagu Bookshop and its employees.

Introduced there were a congratulatory message from the Committee for Aiding Overseas Compatriots of Korea and a silk banner from the Joguk Company.

Ho Jong Man said in his congratulatory speech that the Hagu Bookshop has overcome manifold hardships and steadily improved the contents and methods of book publishing work to meet the requirements of the developing situation, true to the Juche-oriented idea of education for overseas compatriots clarified by Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un, adding that the bookshop has made contribution to developing the national education and training the new generations to be talents who love the nation and the country and genuine patriots.

He expressed the firm belief that the bookshop would repay great loving care shown by Kim Jong Un with great success in its work.

Kang Chang Hun said in a commemorative report that he would make positive efforts to improve the contents and methods of education in keeping with the trend of modern education by carrying forward the tradition of patriotism.

A letter to Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un was read out at the meeting.

There was a reception after the meeting.
