Victor Manuel Lucas, international secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the People of Spain, was elected as chairman of the remembrance committee.

The committee decided to organize political and cultural functions in praise of the revolutionary career and exploits of the President on the occasion of the anniversary of his demise.
