Science, Technology and Education Are Powerful Propeller: Rodong Sinmun

Pyongyang, June 17 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun Monday says in an article that giving priority to science, technology and education is the best way to perfectly solve the problems arising in economic construction by the Koreans' own efforts and to raise the overall national economy onto a higher level, stressing it is also a fundamental guarantee that a state can achieve uninterrupted prosperity. The article goes on:

Self-reliance is neither a requirement of the situation nor a tactical countermeasure against a temporary setback but a strategic line that the DPRK should maintain constantly.

We, who were raised learning the history of self-reliance under the care of the Party, have no other choice but to stick to the principle of self-reliance. Giving priority to science, technology and education is a guarantee that our Republic can make steady progress.

We should bear in mind why the Party considers science, technology and education a propeller of the grand march of self-reliance, and give top priority to them, so as to push ahead with socialist construction.
