Attending the meeting were Ho Jong Man, chairman of the Central Standing Committee of the General Association of Korean Residents in Japan (Chongryon); Pak Ku Ho, its vice-chairman; Kang Chu Ryon, its vice-chairwoman and concurrently chairwoman of the Central Standing Committee of the Union of Democratic Korean Women in Japan; Han Tong Song, rector of the university, and deans of the university faculties; Hong Nam Gi, chairman of the board of directors of the university; officials of the central organizations and its affiliates, and students and teachers of the university.

Introduced there were congratulatory messages from the Education Commission of the DPRK and universities of the homeland including Kim Il Sung University.

Ho Jong Man made a congratulatory speech.

Recalling that a modern building of the university was built in June 1959, the speaker said that the university has won fame with the development into supreme faculty of national education and seat of science under the meticulous guidance and loving care of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

He stressed that Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un leads Korean University to a dignified university of the DPRK as required by the times.

On the same day an art performance was given by students and teachers of the university and a congratulatory reception was given.
