Struggle for Uprooting Deep-Seated Evils Called for
Pyongyang, June 4 (KCNA) -- The All-People Committee to Honor Memory of Martyrs for Nation and Democracy in south Korea held a press conference on May 31 in Seoul to call for turning out in the struggle to do away with deep-seated evils, according to the south Korean internet newspaper Tongil News.

Speakers said that the all-people event has been held every year to honor the memory of martyrs who dedicated themselves to building a society where all people can live well, winning the rights of masses and advancing the movement for nation and democracy.

They noted that deep-seated evils have not been uprooted, denouncing the conservative forces for committing all sorts of sins surpassing those in the past.

They appealed all people of different social standings to turn out in another candlelight resistance to realize the desire of martyrs without fail.

A press release was read out.

It said underscored the need to demonstrate the will of the candlelight demonstrators for uprooting deep-seated evils through the all-people memorial service for martyrs and victims of the struggle for nation and democracy to be held on June 8.
