Chairman Kim Jong Il visited the store several times to give detailed teachings on the issues of its operation including the display of commodities.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un indicated the orientation and ways for modernizing the store on nearly 20 occasions. And he visited the remodeled store in April to grasp in detail its service preparations, saying that service work should be conducted to meet the demands, mood and taste of people as required by the commercial policy of the Workers' Party of Korea.

On display at the store are various kinds of foodstuffs, electric appliances, household goods, garments, school things, children's articles and other famous commodities made in the DPRK and other countries.

The store provides supermarket-style service and such various kinds of welfare service as operation of restaurant and soft drinks stand, tailor's, barber's and beauty parlor.

All the service and management activities here are put on an IT and digital basis.

The store is located in Munsu area of Pyongyang.
