Pyongyang, May 30 (KCNA) -- The Mangyongdae Schoolchildren's Palace in Pyongyang, the capital city of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, is a comprehensive extracurricular education center and a pedigree establishment for training talents.

At least 5,000 schoolchildren conduct extracurricular activities and diverse mass activities at the palace every day to prepare themselves to be reserve scientists, sportspersons and artistes.

The palace, whose architectural style represents the loving care of the Workers' Party of Korea, is equipped with 1,500-seat theatre, library, indoor stadium, swimming pool, various hobby rooms, etc.

Displayed on its roofs are letters reading "We are the happiest in the world!" and "Dash toward future!" which show intensively the happiness and bright future of schoolchildren.

Under the energetic guidance of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, the palace was built in a little more than two years and inaugurated in May Juche 78 (1989).

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un visited the palace in May 2014 and took all necessary measures for its remodeling, saying it is the firm decision of the Party to let sons and daughters of the working people give full play to their talents.

Thanks to his deep care, the remodeling of the palace was successfully completed in a short span of time.
