The credit for its wonderful remodeling goes to the wise guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who personified the love of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il for the people.

The Supreme Leader visited the zoo in May Juche 101 (2012) and stressed the need to spruce it up as a world-level base for people's cultural and leisure activities.

Touring the construction site several times, he indicated in detail the ways for building the entrance of the zoo and the Nature Museum and remodeling all the sheds suited to the ecological characters of animals and the convenience of visitors.

Though he was busy with state affairs, he gave detailed instructions on the issues arising in its construction and settled all the problems.

Thanks to his energetic guidance, the Central Zoo was turned into a highly-civilized model edifice in which the people-first principle of the Workers' Party of Korea is thoroughly embodied.

The Central Zoo has systematically increased the number of gift animals and other animals from different countries by putting the breeding and tending on a scientific basis and acclimatizing them to Korea's climatic and soil conditions.

Meanwhile, it built solid bases for feed production and developed various additives and veterinary medicines to put the supply of feed and the prevention of diseases and medical treatment on a scientific and technical basis, thus making it possible to prolong the life of animals and preserve their presentation values.
