More than 3 000 citizens including members of the April 16 Solidarity, bereaved families of the ferry Sewol disaster and students gathered at the Kwanghwamun Plaza in Seoul to stage a rally.

They demanded dissolution of LKP and punishment of its representative Hwang Kyo An and floor leader Ra Kyong Won.

Speakers there criticized LKP for disturbing the efforts for probing truth behind the ferry disaster and punishing those responsible for it.

Recalling that more than 1.8 million people petitioned for dissolving LKP, they said it represents the public mindset.

Then, a professor of Wonkwang University informed the participants of the result of the judgment made earlier by the "civic constitutional court for dissolving LKP."

A rally demanding the dissolution of LKP was also reportedly held in Pusan.

Speakers said that LKP should be dissolved as it is denying history, distorting history and going against the times.
