Day of Sun Observed in Different Countries
Pyongyang, April 23 (KCNA) -- Meetings for celebrating the birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung, the Day of the Sun, took place in Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador and Nepal from April 10 and 12.

The first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification said that Kim Il Sung, who embarked upon the road of the revolutionary struggle in his teens, liberated Korea by waging the arduous anti-Japanese war and won a brilliant victory in the three year-long Fatherland Liberation War.

He said that Kim Il Sung built a socialist state and devoted his all to defending the sovereignty of the country and accomplishing the cause of reunification, adding that the President will always be alive in the hearts of the Korean and Cuban peoples.

The general coordinator of the Federal Political Secretariat of the United Left Party of Venezuela noted that the history of socialist Korea would have been unthinkable without the sacred life of Kim Il Sung who is being praised by the world people. He said that the Korean people are dynamically accelerating the cause of building a powerful nation under the guidance of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un who has carried forward the cause of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

The chairman of the Ecuadorian Cultural Institute for the Study of the Juche Idea stressed that the exploits of the President would be conveyed down through generations as he glorified the DPRK, which had once eclipsed in the international arena, as a socialist state independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence.

The general secretary of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Marxist-Leninist) stated that the great President is a world-known elder statesman who founded the Juche idea. He highly lauded the President for his special contribution to the reunification of Korea and global peace and security.

A congratulatory message to Kim Jong Un was adopted at the meeting held in Nepal.
